The PIE (Preschool Instruction for the Exceptional) school is a public preschool program operated by the Region III Council for Special Education and services preschoolers with learning disabilities. Wee Tots is a full inclusion preschool that is an extension of the PIE program. The Valley Program (also Region III, but open to Region II and V) offers children with Autism and related learning difficulties a quality education from preschool through eighth grade. Tri-Valley is our sister program and provides special education services to the children of Bergenfield, New Milford and Dumont. The towns served by Region III include Alpine, Closter, Cresskill, Demarest, Harrington Park, Haworth, Northvale, Norwood and Old Tappan; Region II includes Emerson, Hillsdale, Montvale, Park Ridge, River Vale, Woodcliff Lake and Westwood; Region V includes Hackensack, Oradell, River Edge, Rochelle Park and Tenafly.
PTO P&V is a non-profit organization formed in April 1995 to support our children in the PIE, Wee Tots and Valley programs with those extracurricular activities that play key roles in their development. The experiences we provide enhance our children’s learning and provide additional teaching aids. These activities are not covered in the school budget and are funded completely by the PTO through fundraisers and donations. Starting in 2007, PTO P & V welcomed the parents of children in the Tri-Valley program and have been including them in the PTO activities. We also provide an opportunity for parents, teachers and administrators to develop and enhance support networks with and among each other so as to fully support our common interest in our children’s successful development.
